Having worked only as an equity options trader myself, I'm new to the FX, rate and global macro trading that are the subject of The Next Perfect Trade. Nevertheless, I simply devoured this book. It is that readable and that fascinating. The power of Alex's methodology in analyzing and executing trades was immediately evident to me, and quite frankly caused me to understand for the first time some of the flaws in my own trading style. The examples he gives from his own career are not just fun to read, but incredibly illuminating, and gave me a completely new trading perspective on the turbulent economic events of the last twenty years.
Alex's book has the feel of a classic. I suspect it will soon be required reading on the trading desks of banks and hedge funds around the globe. I give it my strongest recommendation. Wield the sword!

"The Next Perfect Trade: A Magic Sword of Necessity" by Alex Gurevich is deeply engaging with powerful insights for any professional trader or investor. The book is well written and flows very well; the content is dense but accessible. I am surprised how much the author has revealed about his strategy, pointing out charts and spreads that are very valuable. This is certainly a must have book for traders, especially for rate and currency traders.
I have been trading professionally and profitably for over a decade and have read many books on trading. This is definitely one of my top books which I will be reading many times. There are actionable insights in the book that will help any trader to improve or develop a trading strategy. The book is based on strategic thinking rather than some short term gimmick. I would highly recommend this book for professional traders. The principles outlined in this book are hard to find elsewhere.

The best investing book of 2015

This is an excellent book that takes a very unique approach to portfolio construction, through a long-horizon discretionary macro lens. Alex focuses on economically-agnostic, very high-probability trade setups, stemming from logical causal chains and multiple scenario analysis. Perhaps my favorite element in this book is Alex's use of real-world examples, both very recent and earlier in his career, from his time in market making, prop, buy-side, & private investing. For the more novice reader, Alex concisely explains concepts like carry/rolldown, forward curves, and swap rates, but all readers can learn from how he applies these fundamentals in his trade generation & construction. This is a must-read book, by the former head of JP Morgan global macro trading.
