About the Author
Jacek Fisiak is a retired professor and head of the School of English at Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan (Poland), and currently head of the School of English at the Warsaw Division of the University of Social Sciences (Spoleczna Akademia Nauk) in Lódz. He has published widely in the area of English linguistics including the history of English, Old and Middle English and historical dialectology on both sides of the Atlantic.
Magdalena Bator received her PhD from Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan in 2008. Currently she is a lecturer at the School of English at the University of Social Sciences in Warsaw. Her research interests focus on various aspects of English historical linguistics, in particular historical semantics.

Although Shafik focuses on Egyptian films, which comprise well more than half of all Arab films made, she discusses the films of the other Arab nations as well, delineating the differences and similarities among them. The author devotes the preponderance of the book to the films themselves, but she is also thorough in her analysis of the conditions political, religious, economic that determine what films are made, how they are made, and where they are seen. The book was first published in 1998; for this edition, Shafik updates the history, discussing in detail some of the seminal films of the last decade. Great Book with an interesting point of view!

I had to read this book for a class at school and was expecting it to be pretty boring. I was pleseantly proved wrong! This book is very interesting and the way in which she looks as film through the individual cultures within the Arab world. If you are interested in film or in Arab culture and history, this would be a great book for you.

A very brief review of Arab Cinema: History and Cultural Identity

Great introduction to how Arab culture shapes Middle Eastern cinema. However, if you do not know much about Arabic culture, this may not be the best place to start. It can be overwhelming but is an important book to have for anyone who wants to learn more about the history of Pan Arab cinema.

Lipstick Dom

Every time I read a T Styles book, I have to remind myself not to be prejudiced towards the book and not love the book because I love her books. With Lipstick Dom, I felt so many different emotions.

As a mother, I honestly don't know how I would react if my child was living such a tortured and conflicted life as Echo did. No spoilers but to have to grow into your own at such a young age and to have so many people against you had to be hard as hell.

Having read the original book Rainbow Heart, I can definitely say I saw the growth and maturity from Miss Styles' pen. While I enjoyed the original, the remastered version blew me completely away. It was absolutely amazing. The characters complemented each other. Tons of jealousy and drama. A few honorable mentions of other characters. One can't go wrong picking up this story!!

Torn between the love of her best friend, and the beliefs of her mother, Echo hides her lesbian feelings inside until her sister discovers her secret , and decides to blackmail her for her own selfish reasons.. But she soon finds out that Echo is anything but (a punk) when she is pushed to the limit.. Once shy and soft-spoken.. She springs to life with a fu.. The world attitude... This book was definitely a page-turner..

T.Styles has done it again! This book was everything . Echo was by far one if the best characters she has ever written about. I could go on and on about this book but if you have ever read a T.styles book then you already know to expect something great. If you haven't check out her work then by all means what are you waiting for !!!!!
